Rexann Oller, age 85, formerly of Russellville, passed away on August 30, 2014. She was born on February 20, 1929. Rexann had a long and successful career as an English and Humanities teacher at Arkansas Tech University. She had a positive influence on thousands of students that set under her tutelage. Rexann strongly valued education and endowed several scholarships enabling many students to further their educational studies. She served on or was a member of: Arkansas Teachers of College English, ATU Theater Guild, Cardinal Key Club, and was the Black Student Society sponsor. Rexann enjoyed being involved in the community. She was a member of the Community Concert Association, the Arkansas Orchestra Guild, the Arkansas River Valley Arts Council and the Arkansas Democratic Party. Rexann was an active member of Central Presbyterian Church in Russellville, Arkansas until her health began to fail. Her Christian faith was important to her and she lived out her faith both, in her personal and professional life. She is survived by her sister, Adele Hardgrave, of Little Rock, her nephew, Robert (Bob) Hardgrave and his wife, Kathy Hardgrave of Little Rock, her niece, Carol Vestal and her husband, Chad Vestal, of Russellville and several great and great-great nieces and nephews. A private family burial service will be held at Beebe Cemetery in Beebe, Arkansas, on Sunday, September 7, 2014.
