Rev. George Cranford Prentice

REV. GEORGE CRANFORD PRENTICE, 82, was born July 27, 1932, in Durant, Okla., son of the late Rev. Carl and Ethel Prentice. He went to be with the Lord on Sept. 6, 2014. He graduated from Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Okla., with a Bachelor of Arts and ThB in Religion. Rev. Prentice pastored 42 years in the Church of the Nazarene, after being ordained in 1958. He served churches in Oklahoma, Colorado, Missouri, Kansas and Arkansas. He retired and moved to North Little Rock in 1999 where he served as a visitation Pastor at Brockington Road Church of the Nazarene for fourteen years. He loved serving people, playing golf and finding golf balls. George married Clarice House on Aug. 21, 1955, and to this union was born a son, George Paul, and a daughter, Pamela Lunn. Being widowed in 2007, he married Maxine Cameron on June 20, 2009. George was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Clarice, and brother Carl Jr. He is survived by his beloved wife, Maxine; son, Rev. Paul Prentice (Cynthia) of Grand Prairie, Texas; daughter, Pam Foxworthy (Tim) of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Bethany Rains (Mark) of Bethany, Okla., Jonathan Prentice, Joshua Foxworthy, Ashley Foxworthy; sister, Genelle Acord of Oklahoma City; brother, Bud Prentice (Sue) of Oklahoma City; one nephew and seven nieces; numerous great nieces and nephews; and a host of dear friends. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014 at the Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street, 72114. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Brockington Church of the Nazarene. Burial will be at Rest Hills Memorial Park. Online obituary and guest registry at www.smithfamilycares.com.
