HARVEY MCRAE ARNOLD of North Little Rock and Searcy, Ark., went to meet his Heavenly Father on Sept. 4, 2014, at 12:15 a.m. He passed peacefully in his sleep of natural causes. He was 94 years old. Harvey was born on July 8, 1920, to the late Blonda Gertrude (Gertie) Linn Arnold and James Columbus (JC) Arnold in Izard County, Ark. He married his beloved wife, Ruby Marie Miller Arnold, on July, 4 1942. They were married for 65 years before her passing in November 2007. Harvey served in WWII in the US Army Air Corps, stationed at Laughlin Air Base in Del Rio, Texas, before being shipped out to the Eastern Front awaiting the invasion of Japan, until the war ended on VJ Day. After completing his service, he obtained his BA degree in Religion and Speech at Harding Univ., a MA in Speech at LSU, and a MA in Counseling at TN Tech Univ. He dedicated his life in service to The Lord as a minister and counselor with the Church of Christ. He began preaching in 1948, in Dover, Ark. Always a caring and generous man, with a twinkle in his eye, and a playful, corny sense of humor, he was much loved by so many whose lives he touched. He will be sorely missed. Harvey is survived by his sons, James E Arnold of New York City, Wayne L Arnold of Austin, Texas; and his daughter, Janice R Arnold of Austin, Texas; five grandchildren Kevin Arnold, Jennifer Arnold Menze, Darcy Arnold Sacks, Ryan Arnold, and Spencer Arnold; and four great-grandchildren Nicholas Lewandowski, Luxi Arnold, Niko Arnold, and Eli Sacks; and his beloved nieces and nephews who have provided such loving care. He was preceded in death by parents, Gertie and JC Arnold; wife, Ruby Arnold; and brothers, Adlai Arnold, Wilbur Arnold, and Loy Arnold. A memorial service will be held at the Sylvan Hills Church of Christ in Sherwood, Ark., on Monday, Sept. 8, 2014, at 2:30. Visitation is one hour prior to the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his name to Children's Home of Paragould, Ark. and Searcy Children's Home in Searcy, Ark.
