Jean Moore Cook, 86, of Douglas, Ga., formerly of Little Rock, left this world on Sept. 2, 2014, to join her husband John Milton Jr. and son, John III, in her new home. She will also be joined by her granddaughter, Heather Cook Cater, who was killed a short 36 hours later by a hit and run driver. Jean was born in Des Arc, Ark., on April 28, 1928, to the late Mac and Zettie Mae Moore. She grew up and raised her children in Little Rock. They were her life, as they grew up it was really hard for her to let them go. She will be broken hearted to hear about Heather, but will join her hand as they enter into heaven. She will also be joining in death, her sisters, Wanita (Charles) Johnson, Mable (Scoot) McClure and Wanda Brown; brothers, Luther (Helen) Moore and Claude Moore; son-in-laws, Paul Carroll and Steven Smirl. She is survived by her children, Johnny (Marsha) Cook, Saundra Carroll, Deborah Smirl, Sherri (Phil) Singleton and Kenneth Cook; grandchildren, Daniel, Paul David and Sarah Carroll, Trina Cook and Brian (Mandy) Smirl, Christy Wyles and Allen Singleton, Lauren (Corey) Hester, Meghan Cook and Layton Cater (Heather's husband); great-grandchildren, Natalie Carroll, Bailey Bryles, Brian and John-Kaden Smirl, Catilyn and Logan Wyles, Ella Rose and James Braylon Hester; sister, Ruth Ford; and brother, Bo (Florence) Moore.
