Geraldine Lydia Farmer, 82, passed from this life peacefully on September 10, 2014, surrounded by her husband of sixty years, Dr. Glendon Laverne Farmer, and her family. Dr. and Mrs. Farmer have resided in Conway since 1994. She was born July 26, 1932, to Bernice Woolverton Holloway and John Holloway, formerly of Center Ridge, Arkansas, and Bragg City, Missouri. She was a graduate of Bragg City High School and received a Bachelor of Science in Education from Harding College in 1959. The Farmers were united in marriage February 6, 1954 in Bragg City, Missouri, where they taught in the Bragg City Schools until 1965. From 1965 to 1967, Geraldine taught in the Knoxville City Schools while her husband was at the University of Tennessee. In 1967, they moved to Florence, Alabama. Geraldine was an educator in the Florence City Schools and an active member in the Chisholm Hills Church of Christ. After her retirement in 1987, they relocated to Conway, Arkansas. Mrs. Farmer is survived by her husband Glendon, three children: Sherry Holder, Patti Summers, and John Farmer; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Visitation will be at the Robinson and Center Church of Christ in Conway Saturday, September 13, at noon.
