Denise Leann Rivera 47, of Alexander, went to be with the Lord on September 14, 2014 after a brave and courageous battle with cancer. She was born on January 12, 1967 to Diane and Furman Rivera in Los Angeles, Calif. Denise was a very loving mother and was very loyal to her family and friends. She loved spending time with her family and friends especially her grandbabies; they all were the apple of her eye.
Denise is preceded in death by her father, Skippy Rivera; stepfather, Kenneth Wilcox; one son, Daniel Rivera; two brothers, Michael Lawler and Danny Rivera, and her sister-in-law, Susan Rivera.
She is survived by her mother, Diane Wilcox; three sons, Chris Rivera, Michael Rivera (Shea), Alphonso Turner (Janeece); three daughters, Nichole Hill (Thomas), Nena Hill (Steven), and Ashley Scarbrough (Tony); grandbabies; Jadyn, Michael, Bianca, Isaiah, Jesiah, Alyssa, Gabriel, Allison, Jonah, Eli, and Leann; three sisters; Debbie, Linda, and Julie (Richard); two brothers, Kenneth (Lori) and Max (Becky); life companion, Al Turner; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends who all loved her and will miss her dearly.
A celebration of life will be held Thursday, September 18, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home in Bryant. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 17, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dial and Dudley Funeral Home, 501-847-9099.
