Charles Nick Tolliver

Charles Nick Tolliver was born on February 14, 1960 to Polly and Tommy Tolliver. After a long and hard fought battle with cancer he was called home to the Lord on Tuesday, September 16, 2014. Nick is preceded in death by his grandparents Charlie and Marie Tolliver and his mother Polly Fowlkes Tolliver. Nick is survived by his wife of 37 years Loretta Schnarr; their four sons, Nicholas (Mindy), Jimmy, Thomas and Andrew; four grandsons, Ashton, Kanyon, Lincoln and Griffin; two granddaughters, Katie and Alyssa; his father, Tommy Tolliver; brother, Mark (Sheryl) Tolliver; numerous aunts; uncles; cousins; and his two beloved dogs, Ralph and Tempest and his cat, CJ. Nick attended Oak Grove High School, where he met his sweetheart, Loretta. The two were married on September 9, 1977. After graduation he attended UCA where he received triple degrees in geography, math and physics. He attended graduate school at Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma. After school he did an internship with the National Weather Service in North Little Rock followed by an internship in Fort Monmouth, New Jersey doing military research. Nick was a devoted husband and father. He spent countless hours volunteering at North Heights and Burns Park baseball parks where he coached his 3 oldest sons and eldest grandson in baseball. Nick was strong in faith. He knew his time on earth was limited and was looking forward on going home to Heaven. He will be missed! A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday at Smith – North Little Rock Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday at the funeral home.
