In the early morning of Friday, Sept. 19, 2014, Heaven's gates opened wide and welcomed Roger "Bryan" Barnett home. Roger is survived by his son, Jagger Barnett of Conway; mother and father, Roger and Freddie Barnett of Tucker; brother, Jeff Barnett of Cabot; and sister, Lisa Bell and husband Jeremiah of Conway; and a host of family and friends. Roger was born April 17, 1974, in Stuttgart, Ark. Bryan's world revolved around his son, Jagger, his whole life. Roger retired from the Stuttgart Police Department and had served as the resource office for Stuttgart Public Schools. He also coached softball the last 10 years and loved his softball girls like they were his. He enjoyed the outdoors, spending time with family and friends at any kind of ballpark. He was an avid sport's fan. Roger was first diagnosed with Leukemia in 2000 and fought a long, hard fight. He spent the last few months in M.D. Anderson where his mom and brother stayed with him. He came home for his last days to say his goodbyes to his family and friends. Funeral services, officiated by Pastor Jerry Pettit, are 2 p.m. Monday at Turpin Funeral Home with burial in Almyra Cemetery. Visitation for friends and family will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Turpin Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers or food, memorials may be made to the Jagger Dean Barnett College Fund at Regions Bank, 1023 Main St., Conway, Ark., 72032.
