Joyce Richardson Laws, 76, of Russellville, died Monday, September 22, 2014, at her home. She was born November 13, 1937 in Lepanto, Arkansas, to H. B. "Doc" and Helen Vance Richardson. Full of life and love for her family and friends, she was president and owner of Memphis Travel in Memphis, Tennessee for many years. She spoke multiple languages and loved to share her knowledge of the world with others. She was a fabulous cook and enjoyed painting, singing and playing the piano. She had just joined the PEO Chapter BM, was active in the River Valley Arts Center and painted with the Downtown Art Group. She was the past president and life member of the Russellville Junior Auxiliary, a member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority and a member of First United Methodist Church of Russellville. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Hugh "Spud" Richardson. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Allen and Toni Laws and Hugh and Tamara Laws, all of Russellville; a daughter and son-in-law, Margo Laws Jackson-Lockyer and Chris Jackson-Lockyer of Mountain Home; a brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Tommy and Linda Richardson of Russellville; and five grandchildren, Matt, Harrison and Alix Ann Laws, and David and Sarah Jackson-Lockyer. The memorial service will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, September 24, 2014, at First United Methodist Church Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Roy Smith, and under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service. Burial in Oakland Cemetery in Russellville will be private. The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service in the church fellowship hall.
