Nelda Faye McKinney

Nelda Faye McKinney, 78, of Cabot died Thursday, Dec. 10, 2015. She was born Sept. 3, 1937 in Mount Vernon to the late Johnny William and Edna Mae Clark McCaig. Mrs. McKinney was a founding member of Victory Baptist Church in Cabot. She retired from Southwestern Bell after over 30 years of service and was a member of the "Telephone Pioneers". Mrs. McKinney loved to dance and loved her dog, Ginger. In addition to her parents, Mrs. McKinney was preceded in death by a grandson, Kyle DeBlock Branch and a sister Jenera Tipton. Mrs. McKinney is survived by her husband of 16 years, Jerry McKinney, her children; Tammy Young (Jack) of Cabot, Mark Wawak (Karen) of Little Rock, Cory Branch of Cabot and her husband, Jerry's children and grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters; Delma King and Nell Howell and her brother, John "Sonny" McCaig Jr., nine grandchildren; Brittany Owens, Kayla Owens, Madeline Young, Mackenzie Young, Meg Young, Cory Branch Jr., Shelby Roofner, Holly Wawak, J.R. Wawak and great-grandchildren; Dallas Cox, Mia Rodriguez and Maeleigh Winters. In memory of Mrs. McKinney, memorial gifts may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 14, 2015 at Victory Baptist Church with burial at Crest Lawn Memorial Park in Conway.
