Carol Green Marotti Hughes

Carol Green Marotti Hughes of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away on February 2, 2015. She was born In St. Louis, Missouri on August 17, 1936 and lived in West Memphis, Arkansas, Atlanta, Georgia and Little Rock, Arkansas. She is predeceased by her first husband Alfred Marotti Jr. and son Robert Watson Marotti. She is survived by her husband, Rufus R. Hughes II, son, Scott Marotti, MD and his wife Tonya, daughter, Jane Marotti, stepson, David Hughes and his wife Rosalie, stepson, Jonathan Hughes and his wife Jeanne, and seven loving grandchildren. Although born in St. Louis, Carol grew up, married and raised her family in West Memphis. She was a long time member of Holy Cross Episcopal Church. Carol was the first person to be confirmed at Holy Cross and served as a Servant Leader in that parish for many years. Some of her fondest memories revolve around raising her children in the church. Carol remarried and transferred her endless energy and service to St. Dunsten's Episcopal Church in Atlanta, Georgia. Carol was an active leader in the American Heart Association, and volunteered for multiple organizations. She had a love for the arts and especially appreciated all aspects of music. Her love for God, family, and friends was boundless. A celebration of Carol's life will be held on Thursday, February 5 at Holy Cross Episcopal Church located at 209 Park Drive, West Memphis, Arkansas 72301. There will be a visitation from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. prior to the funeral service at 12 noon. A graveside ceremony will be held at Crittenden Memorial Cemetery in Marion, Arkansas following the service. The family would like to thank all of the attending physicians and nursing staff that took such loving care of Carol at Baptist Medical Center.
