Barbera Honnebier

Dr. Barbera Honnebier died on February 1, 2015 in her home in Little Rock. She was born on January 22, 1961 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. She studied medicine and went in 1987 to Ithaca, USA, where she did research for many years at Cornell University. After that she studied in Los Angeles, became a surgeon in Hawaii, and studied in Portland, Oregon and in Philadelphia. All her exams and PhD she got cum laude. Also she got several awards for her outstanding medical research. In 2004 adenoid cystic carcinoma was discovered in Philadelphia. In 2010 she became assistant professor at UAMS in Cranio-Maxillo-Facial Surgery; she performed numerous craniofacial procedures on unfortunate deformed children, transforming their lives of misery to lives of hope and happiness. She leaves her parents and four sisters and one brother behind in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. There will be a memorial service on Friday, February 6, at 4 p.m. with visitation to follow at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 West 12th Street. You are kindly invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital Camp Laughter or to the Cranial Facial Plastics Memorial Fund at ACH.
