James (Jimmy) Alvin Patton

James Alvin (Jimmy) Patton, 81, of Little Rock, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Hospice Home Care in Little Rock. He was born March 23, 1933 in Morrilton, Arkansas, to the late James Levi Patton and Juanita Thomas Patton. Preceding Jimmy in death are his former wife, Lou, daughter, Michelle and sister Gena Henry. Jimmy was a member of Geyer Springs First Baptist Church for many years and served in the Arkansas National Guard. Jimmy was a successful businessman in Little Rock for over 50 years. He was owner of M&P Equipment Co. and later Jimmy A. Patton Contractors. While he was a contractor, he built bridges, freeways and demolished buildings all over the south United States. He was an innovator and for a time manufactured succor rods for the oil industry. Jimmy is survived by three daughters, Nita Patton, Jimmie Lou Wallace, of Little Rock and Gena Case (Greg), of Lakewood Ranch, Florida, six grandchildren; J.T. Head, Portia Bradford, Austin and Aaron Wallace, Kaitlyn Case, and Jack Freeman. Also surviving are his sister, Bettye Fussell and brother Lando Patton (Rosalie). Jimmy's passion was his work until his first grandchild, J.T. was born and then he became the apple of his eye. Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, February 6, 2015 at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Alexander, Ark., with Reverend Gene Davis officiating.
