Max D. Teague

Max D. Teague, 78, of Hot Springs Village passed away February 3, 2015. He was born November 29, 1936 in Harrisburg, Arkansas to the late Arvin H. and Edna Mills Teague. Max held a long career with Interstate Brands Bakeries, working in several management positions. He served many years as deacon, choir member, and leader in Assembly of God churches. He and Peggy moved to Hot Springs Village in 2000 where he loved to play golf. Max was a man of integrity who valued and loved his family and friends. He had a good sense of humor, often joking and teasing. He enjoyed singing solos or duets with his daughters with his beautiful bass voice. He loved to smoke ribs and turkey, and make guacamole and Christmas fruit salad (without bananas). He had a passion for helping people, particularly through the AARP tax preparation service. Loving survivors include his wife of 58 years, Peggy Teague of Hot Springs Village; daughters, Jan Smith (Greg) and Candace Teague, all of Atlanta, Georgia; brother, Bill Teague (Annette) of Weiner, Arkansas; sister, Sharon Traweek (James) of Stephenville, Texas; and grandchildren, Jordan Smith (Jamie) of Hudson, Massachusetts and Clayton Smith of Minneapolis, Minnesota. A visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, February 6th at Caruth Village Funeral Home with the service to begin at 11 a.m. with Pastor Greg Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to CHI St. Vincent Hospital, Hot Springs, Ark.
