Bobby Wayne Flowers, 81, of Little Rock went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 surrounded by his family. He was born October 27, 1933 in Morrilton, Arkansas to the late Willie Allen Flowers and Ressie Lee Flowers. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Doris McFall Flowers, of Parma, Missouri. He leaves behind his two daughters, Mona Thompson and husband Don of Little Rock and Talena Ray and husband Michael of North Little Rock; grandchildren: Tara Edge and husband Cody of Dallas, Texas and Nathan Ray of North Little Rock, great-grandchildren: Reece Edge and Bobby Edge of Dallas, Texas; and a host of family and friends. He graduated from ASU in Jonesboro, Arkansas with a BA in English and Journalism. Bobby served in the U.S. Army as presiding officer of the Missile launching platoon in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Upon discharge from the Army he taught high school English and Journalism in Lilbourn, Missouri. He was also a journalist for three local newspapers. In 1967 he moved his family to Little Rock, Arkansas where he took a job with Exxon Oil Company in sales management. Bobby later worked in Investment Securities and retired in 1999. He was an active member of Highland Valley United Methodist Church and the Ben Miller Sunday School class who were very dear to his heart. Bobby was known for his gentle kind spirit and love for his family and friends …he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 8, 2015, from 2-5 p.m. at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Ark. 72211, (501) 224-8300. The funeral services to celebrate his life will be at Highland Valley United Methodist Church, Monday, February 9 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park in North Little Rock.
