Billie "Juanita" Carruthers Jackson, 87, of Little Rock, died February 6, 2015 after a brief illness. She was born October 31, 1927, in Tyler, Texas to Etta Mann and William Luther Carruthers. She moved to El Dorado in the 1950's. She was a Southwestern Bell switchboard operator more than 30 years, first in Tyler and then in El Dorado. She retired and moved to Little Rock in 1982. She was the widow of Thomas Earl Hines and Hoyett Jackson. Survivors are three daughters: Gail (Mike) McLemore of Rogers, Beverly Hines Reed and Janell (Mike) Tygart, both of Little Rock; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was a world traveler and always had her bags packed for the next trip. In Little Rock she was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, which she attended more than 30 years and where she was active in Merry Makers and the Merry Music Makers; the AARP chapter; a bridge club; and a card and domino gathering. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Calvary or a favorite charity. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m., Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Ark. 72211, (501) 224-8300. The memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. in the chapel. Dr. Ed Simpson will officiate. Private entombment will be at Riverwood Memorial Park, Maumelle, Ark.
