Johnny Mack Funderburg

Johnny Mack Funderburg, age 83, of Monticello, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2015 at the VA Hospital in Little Rock. He was born April 28, 1931 in Drew County to the late John Ed & Ruth Gaddy Funderburg. He was a United States Air Force veteran, a retired self-employed contractor and a lifetime member of the Pleasant Grove Freewill Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing ball. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Elvin and Will Ed Funderburg; and two sisters, Allean Morgan and Jo Winstead. Survivors include his wife, Janice Herring Funderburg of Monticello; one daughter, Becky Ryburn and husband Joey of Monticello; one son, Gary Funderburg amd wife Carri of Camden; two step-children, Louann McKinney of Saluva, S.C. and Christopher Veasey of Clarksville, Tenn.; two sisters, Mary Jane Tiner and Laverne Styles both of Little Rock; one brother, Edmund Funderburg of Minden, La.; four grandchildren, Brandon Ryburn and wife Lauren, Nick Ryburn and wife Tori, Emily Nugent and husband Neal and John and Sidney Hoggard; six great-grandchildren, Braxton and Branton Nugent, Reed and Gray Ryburn, Roxi Ryburn and Addison Landon; and six step grandchildren, Jamie, Justin and Jacob McKinney, Chris Veasey, Holly and Alyssa Veasey. Funeral Service will be 10 a.m. Friday, February 13, 2015 at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery with military honors.
