Sidney Elbert Brantley Sr., 79, of Dermott, Arkansas, passed away Friday, February 6, 2015 in Lake Village, Arkansas. He was born on April 23, 1935 in Lake Village, Ark. to the late Elbert Bond and Sarah Aleen White Brantley. Sidney served in the United States Navy. He worked at Riceland Foods for 48 years. Sidney loved to ride motorcycles and was an amateur ham radio operator and his call letters were AC5OO. He was an active member of Temple Baptist Church. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his wives, Bonnie Garrison Brantley and Elaine Steel Brantley; daughter, Cheryl Lynn Brantley. Survivors include his sons, Sidney Elbert Brantley Jr. of Monticello, Ark., George Michael "Mike" Brantley of McGehee, AR, Charles Wayne Brantley Sr., of Dermott, AR, James Allen Brantley and his wife, Mary of Arkansas City, Ark., Bobby Dean Brantley of Arkansas City, Ark., and William Thomas "Bill" Brantley of Dermott, Ark.; daughters, Donna Cessor and her husband, Wendell of Lake Village, Ark. and Sheila Estep of McGehee, Ark.; sister-in-law, Naomi Brantley of Missouri, 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Temple Baptist Church in Dermott, Ark. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Temple Baptist Church in Dermott, Ark. with Rev. Bob Franklin and Rev. Jody Gannaway officiating.
