Jean Marie Hayes

Jean Marie Hayes was born February 13, 1931, to John Warmuth Douglass and Emma Shaw (Eldredge) Douglass in Cold Spring, New Jersey. She passed away Friday, February 6, 2015. Jean was a 1949 graduate of Cape May High School, New Jersey. She later married Hugh Montgomery Anderson (deceased 1984) and was eternally blessed by her daughter, Neva Gadsden, and son, Richard Anderson. Jean was a very active participant in her community. She was a past member of the following: Toastmasters International, Seven Springs Extension Homemakers Club, AARP Heber Springs, Heber Springs Study Club, and the Heber Springs Newcomers Club. She was a member of Heber Springs First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, District Office UMW, Dorcas Circle. Jean was also a member of TOPS Club and the Order of the Eastern Star, and she was a volunteer at Baptist Health Auxiliary Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and brother. Jean is survived by her beloved husband, Floyd V. Hayes; daughters, Sharon Wilson and Neva (Richard) Gadsden; son, Richard Anderson; stepson, Scott (Kelly) Hayes; stepdaughter, Cindy (Tony) Burnette. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Richard Gadsden III, Jennifer Anderson, Dillon Burnette, Joey Burnette, Kasey Hayes and Samantha Hayes. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Heber Springs First United Methodist Church, 1099 West Pine Street, Heber Springs, Arkansas 72543.
