A.J. Hambuchen Jr., 77, son of Bertha Halter Hambuchen and A.J. Hambuchen Sr., passed away on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015 at his home. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary Beth Enderlin Hambuchen; sons, David (Marla), Joseph (Julie) and Stephen (Colleen) and daughter, Katherine (Noel) Moniot. A.J. also leaves nine grandchildren: Mary Margaret, Harrison, Elizabeth, Caroline, Claire, Rachel, Will, Audrey and Thomas and 43 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Hambuchen and nephews, John Hambuchen and Paul Deuscher. A.J. was a graduate of St. Joseph High School and Arkansas State Teachers College (UCA). He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy in 1962. He was president of Hambuchen Home Furnishings from 1970–1997. A.J. was a past president of the Arkansas Home Furnishings Association and past president and founding member of MEGA Group, a national furniture and appliance buying cooperation. A.J. was a life long member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Conway. He was a past president of both the St. Joseph School Board and St. Joseph Parish Council and served two terms on the Conway City Council. He was a member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. A.J. was a committed volunteer for Habitat for Humanity of Faulkner County and the Faulkner County Museum. He spent many man-hours serving his beloved Carmelite sisters in Little Rock and his friends at Subiaco Abbey. Rosary will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 16, 2015, followed by family visitation at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Conway. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with internment at St. Joseph Mausoleum.
