Joseph Jack Horvat

Joseph Jack Horvat "Papa Joe," 100, passed away Feb. 6, 2015. He was born in Beaver Creek, Mont. on Dec. 30, 1914 to John and Mary Hovart. He was of Catholic faith and a member of St. Theresa's Parish. Papa Joe fought for our country in WWII; he was Navy Veteran serving in the 26th Navy Construction Regiment. He was a lifetime member of Pipefitters Local Union #208. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; Jewell E. Taylor Horvat; two daughters, Barbara J. Horvat and Paula T. Blackmore; four brothers and three sisters. He is survived by three children, Kristine Hansen, Sharron Hilty, Joseph Horvat, PHD; two sisters, Nadine DeGraw (Ernie), Betty Nelson; four grandchildren, Thomas Hilty, Anthony Hilty, Kathy Kochanek (David), Timothy Hansen; great-grandchild, Troy Kochanek; god daughter, Renee Simmons and numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks and gratitude to Tina Woodley, who assisted and cared for Papa for the past four years. A funeral mass will be said at St. Theresa's Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015 at 10 am.
