Lawrence Dorsey Jr.

Lawrence Edward Dorsey Jr., age 70, of Alexander, Arkansas passed into God's hands on Saturday February 21, 2015. Larry was born in St. Louis Missouri on March 30, 1944 to Ora Florence and Lawrence Edward Dorsey Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Michael Dorsey and his granddaughter Krista Hannibal. Larry was a loving brother, father and grandfather to his family. He is survived by his brothers Patrick Dorsey (Teresa) and Thomas Dorsey, and his four children; Melinda Grimm, Joe Dorsey (Shara), Leanna Castillo (Gerson), and Mark Dorsey (Michelle); and six grandchildren, Cassandra Grimm, Benjamin Hannibal, Joseph Dorsey, Hannah Dorsey, Ethan Dorsey, Gerson Castillo-Ramirez as well as many other family members. Larry graduated from Holy Cross High School in Champaign, Ill. and attended college at the University of Indiana. The majority of his career was in the computer field but he was involved in many entrepreneurial endeavors throughout his life. He was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Little Rock; prayer was a very important part of his daily life. He was an avid reader, enjoyed watching sports, playing cribbage and cards as well as Frisbee golf and Bocce ball with family. The family wishes to thank everyone at the Hospice Home Care on Bowman Road in Little Rock for loving care and compassion. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday the 27th at Ashby's Funeral Home Chapel by Father Mark Wood of St Theresa Catholic Church.
