Jim Bowen

Jimmy "Jim" Bowen, 67, of Wilmar, Ark. passed away, Tuesday, May 26 at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Little Rock. He was born December 29, 1947 in Little Rock to the late William Bowen and Gertrude Markley Bowen. Jim was of the Baptist faith, an avid outdoorsman, and loved hunting all kinds of game. He was a Vice President of the CWA Communication Workers of America and eventually became President. He was an avid fan of NASCAR, the Razorbacks and also loved baseball. Jim loved his grandsons and enjoyed spending time with them. Survivors include his wife, Janis Kay McGhee Bowen of Wilmar; one daughter, Kristi Massey and husband Brandon of White Hall; two sisters, Shirley Pharis and Jan Baldridge both of Little Rock and three grandsons, Kade, Zane and Gage. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 29 at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel with burial to follow in 16th Section Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
