Ramona Bernadine Smith Mueller

Ramona Bernadine Smith Mueller, 85, passed away peacefully on Oct. 10, 2015 in a Conway hospital. She was born Oct. 19, 1929 in Jesup, Ark. to James Lee (Jay) and Pearl Simpson Smith. Ramona attended Arkansas Tech in Russellville, Ark. She then moved to St. Louis, Mo. and then on to Washington, D.C., where she became the secretary to the Commissioner of the Federal Trade Commission. She met her husband, Charles E. Mueller, at the FTC as he was a lawyer there. They married in 1970. They later retired to Vero Beach, Fla., where she lived until Charles' death in 2010. Ramona then moved back to Arkansas to be near family and friends. Ramona was preceded In death by her parents; by her husband, Charles E. (Chuck) Mueller; a sister, Rita Faith Smith Spotts; and a nephew, Mike Martin. She is survived by her sister, Anna Jane Smith Creekmore and husband, Melvin of Jesup; her brother, Anthony (Tony) Smith and wife, Dorothy of Cord, Ark.; nieces & nephews: Deborah Martin; Donna Henson and husband, Tommy; Janet Curtis and husband, Brad; and James W. Spotts and wife, Janet, all of Vilonia, Ark.; Jean Spotts of Conway, Ark.; Sandra Hall and husband, John of Bertrand, Mo.; Regina Weaver and husband, Howard of Batesville, Ark.; and Karen Brown and husband, Brent of Horn Lake, Miss.; and many great- and great-great nieces and nephews. Visitation will precede the funeral service at Eli Lindsey United Methodist Church in Jesup, Ark. Visitation will be at noon and the funeral at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 13 with John Stoll officiating. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery in Strawberry, Ark. with Roller Funeral homes in charge. Pallbearer will be her nephews and great-nephews.
