Walter Martin Trawick, Jr., 87, of Hot Springs, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2015. He was born in Quitman, Arkansas on July 17, 1928 to Walter Martin Trawick and Johnnie Hicks Trawick. Martin graduated from the University of Central Arkansas, served in the Naval Reserve and was a captain in the U.S. Army National Guard where he was a commander of the 212 Signal Battalion from 1949-1966. He is survived by his wife of almost 65 years, Winnie Partridge Trawick; two sons, Walter Steven Trawick of Houston, Texas and Tracy Martin Trawick (Ellen) of Hot Springs; two grandchildren Lindsay Waites (Andrew) of Frisco, Texas and Kelly Martin Trawick (Stacy) of Hot Springs, as well as, two wonderful great-grandchildren Harris and Alice Waites of Frisco, Texas. A dedicated and loving family man, Martin also loved his Chihuahuas, Molly and Carly. He was the owner of Winmar Company until retiring due to illness in 2008, and he founded Auto Supply Co. located on Higdon Ferry Rd. which continues to serve the Hot Springs area. Visitation will be Friday, September 11 from 5pm to 7 p.m. and funeral service will be at Gross Funeral Home 11 a.m. Saturday, September 12. Burial will follow at Rest Hills in North Little Rock at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorials be made to the Caring Place.
