Jodi Leigh Toepperwein Greer, 37 of Alma, Ark. succumbed to a short but unyieldingly fought battle with lung cancer early in the morning of Wednesday, December 30, 2015. Jodi is survived by her husband, Thomas; children, Taylor and Taryn, all of Alma; her parents, Gary and Carolyn Baker Toepperwein; her sister, Jennifer Fleming, all of Keller, Texas; and her Grandmother, Georgia Lovelady Toepperwein of Boerne, Texas; along with her two dogs, Belle and Chuy. Jodi's six word story would be "Amazing smile, no one can forget." She was born March 25th, 1978 in Minot, N.D. and grew up in Keller, Texas. As a young child she began her lifelong love affair with dance, many times dancing while her older sister would sing. Her close bond with her big sister inspired her to have her own children close in age to foster their friendship much like she had growing up alongside her sister and best friend. Jodi was a fourth generation graduate of Southwest Texas State University. She loved to laugh and quickly made friends with anyone. As externally stunning as she was, it was her inner beauty that charmed and captivated those around her. The world needs people like Jodi in it, as she made this world a better place for those around her. The stars that shine the brightest sometimes burn out too quickly, but their beauty is remembered forever. She was a great friend, a good Samaritan, wonderful sister, kind daughter and am amazing mother. She worked in the family business, Kopper Kettle Candies and franchisee Golden Corral of Fayetteville, Ark. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at Community Bible Church of Fort Smith at 12 p.m. (noon), Saturday, January 2, 2016 under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren. The family would like to thank so many from the incredible medical team who gave so much to Jodi. Dr. Arzoumaian, Dr. Meade, Dr. Ihmedon, Dr. Carlson, Dr. Frisbie, Dr. Cross, Dr Barnes, Peach Tree Hospice, their staffs, and countless others we have had the pleasure of meeting in our short battle.
