Sonja Lois Thacker

Sonja Lois Thacker, 84, of Benton, passed away Dec. 31, 2015. She was born Sept. 2, 1931 in Round Mountain, Ark. to the late Loren Reece and Ethel Ramsey. Sonja was a standing member of Abundant Life Assembly of God Church in Bryant for many years. She is survived by siblings: Dene Cureton of Heber Springs, Lecil Reece of Raleigh, N.C., and Kenneth Reece of Bryant, Ark. Always loving her with warm memories will be her three children: Sonja Wilkins, Bob & Linda McCrery, and David & Kirstie Knight, all of Benton; six grandchildren: Nicole Nichols, Rob McCrery, Amy Jost, Heather McCrery, Aaron Knight & Daniel Knight and seven great-grandchildren: Courtney, Megan, Colin, Joshua, Aiden, Cole and Wyatt--with all her friends and relatives that are too numerous to mention. After a short illness, she passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones. Pallbearers: Rob McCrery, Aaron Knight, Daniel Knight, Don Jost. Honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandsons: Colin Jost, Cole Ferguson, Joshua Jost, Wyatt Ferguson, and Aiden Jost. Visitation will be at Ashby Funeral Home, Monday night, Jan. 4 from 6-8 p.m. in the chapel. Services will be Tuesday, Jan. 5 at 10:30 a.m. in the sanctuary of Abundant Life Church (23790 I-30, Bryant, Ark., 501-847-4357) and officiated by Pastor Sam Crenshaw.
