Dr. Charles Henry Fohn

Dr. Charles Henry Fohn passed away on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2015 at his home in Camden, Ark. He was born in Hondo, Texas on Nov. 15, 1931, the son of Thelma Decker Fohn and Maurice Fohn. He served in the U.S. Navy and later graduated from Tulane Medical School in New Orleans, La. where he met his future wife, Johelen. They married in 1955, and after serving a surgical residency in San Antonio, relocated to Camden, Ark. to start a medical practice in 1964. Charlie loved his work, his patients and his staff and had the joy of serving the Camden community for more than 50 years. He will be greatly missed by family, friends and colleagues. Charlie is survived by his children: Karen Fohn of Houston, Texas; Alan Fohn of Fayetteville, Ark., and Marcia Rakoski and her husband, Larry of Bulverde, Texas; grandchildren, Michael Rakoski and his wife, Andrea of Whidbey Island, Wash. and William Rakoski of Bulverde, Texas; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Johelen; his son, Karl Fohn; and a brother, Joe Fohn. A service to celebrate his life is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016 at Proctor Funeral Home in Camden. There will be private service to scatter Charlie's ashes at his beloved family ranch in Hondo, Texas.
