Paul Shepard Crumpton

Paul Shepard Crumpton, 85, of Salina, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015. He was born in Little Rock, Ark. to Wendell and Rebecca (Shepard) Crumpton and the grandson of Paul R. Shepard, who was the Scimitar Shrine Mason Potentate in the 1930's. In 1950, Paul joined the U.S. Air Force and served in Vietnam. In 1970, he retired with the rank of Master Sergeant and joined the reserves, working for the FAA as an electronics technician. In 1995, he retired from the FAA and worked for five years at Wichita State University. Outside of work, Paul loved Kansas State University football and had season tickets for over 20 years. Paul is survived by his wife, Patricia Crumpton of Salina; sons, Doug Crumpton and Steve Crumpton, both of Salina; stepsons, Eric Clayton of Salina, and Tom Clayton of Ellensburg, Wash.; daughters, Rebecca Cheema of Las Vegas and Trisha Crumpton of Salina; sister, Sheila Crumpton-Barron of Indianapolis; and 15 grandchildren. Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Dec. 11 at the Sunset Park War Memorial, Salina. The family encourages all Kansas State University fans to wear school colors to honor Paul and his love for the Wildcats. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Salina.
