Ervin Ray Dover, 81, of Sage, died Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at his home. Hewas born in Battles, Arkansas on Monday, August 27, 1934 and was the son of Ervin Edgar and Willie Jane (Felts) Dover. Ervin was a maintenance supervisor at Stone Cantainer for over 30 years before he retired. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran; was a member of the Crescent Masonic Lodge in North Little Rock, and was a member of Sage Baptist Church. Ervin is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary (Ramsey) Dover of Sage; one son, Douglas Ray Dover and his wife, Judy of North Little Rock; and one daughter-in-law, Becca Dover of Maumelle, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Mary Ruth Dover, Cody Dover, and Zachary Dover; and one great-granddaughter, Ava Mae Brown. He is also survived by four sisters, Olita Dunehew of Lincoln, California, Virginia Wiles of Sidney, Arkansas, Mary Lois Woods of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Helen Holland of Sherwood, Arkansas. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive him. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Dennis Dover; and two brothers, J.W. Dover and Loy Dover. Pallbearers will be Cody Dover, Zachary Dover, Ronny Vest, Keatric Brown, Gayle Woods, and David Chaney. Honorary pallbearers are Bob Ramsey, Son Lamb, Shelby Anderson, Bennie Bannings, Tate Lawrence, Alvin Wiles, and Gene Wiles. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Roller-Crouch Chapel in Melbourne with Bro. S.D. Hacker and Bro. Alan Meinzer officiating. Beverly Meizner will be in charge of the music. Burial will follow the services at Caney Springs Cemetery in Sage under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Melbourne.
