On Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016 JAMES "JAY" BAKER BROWN, 58, ascended to join that glorious Band of Angels. Jay's death was unexpected; however, he was doing one of the things he liked best, selling a car. Jay was preceded in death by his son-James Tanner Brown, brother-Brooks Ruble Brown, stepfather-Robert Earl Barros and father-Richard Nelson Brown. He is survived by his mother-Margaret Ann Barros, his brother-Richard Eugene Brown, his son-James Hunter Brown, his daughter Elizabeth Marie Brown, numerous cousins and extended family and friends. Jay was born Oct. 9, 1957 in Clovis, N.M. He attended Little Rock Public Schools, graduating from Hall High School. In 1978 he began a 10 year journey with the United States Navy. This journey included two West Pac Cruises aboard a nuclear cruiser and retired as a Petty Officer 1st Class. He returned to Little Rock at the request of his step-brother to join the team at Heritage Building Systems, which lasted about 20 years. After Heritage was sold, Jay found another exciting industry, selling automobiles. He was currently employed by McLarty Nissan of Little Rock. Jay was raised camping on Lake Ouachita. He loved the outdoors in all aspects, especially duck hunting. He took great pride and joy taking his children and their friends into the forests, streams, and mountains of Arkansas. Golfing was another of his favorite pastimes. He is missed beyond words and will always be remembered.
