Jack Manson Pitts

Jack Manson Pitts, 83, of Rogers, Arkansas, passed away on December 22, 2015 of natural causes. He was born to the late John Manson Pitts and Anna Mae Pitts, August 12, 1932, in Oolagah, Okla. He was married to the late Velma Joy Pitts, June 6, 1953 and they lived in Oklahoma before moving to Ft. Smith, Arkansas in 1957, then moving to Rogers in 1967. Jack was an Army veteran serving in artillery unit during the Korean War. He received several medals including Army Occupation Medal (Japan); United Nations Service Medal; Korean Service Medal with one bronze star; and the Combat Infantry Badge. Jack worked for Western Electric. Jack and his wife were active members of the Downtown Church of Christ, Rogers, Arkansas. He is preceded in death by his wife Joy; his daughter, Kathy; mother and father, John and Anna; and five brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his son Mark Pitts and three grandchildren, Branden, Josh, and Denni. As well as six great-grandchildren including Lyrica, Alessandra, Averi, Austin, Wesely, and Josh Jr. Graveside burial will be held at 11 am, Friday January 15, 2016 at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery in Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m., Sunday January 17, 2016 at the Downtown Church of Christ, Rogers, Arkansas. Arrangements are under the direction of Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home, Rogers.
