Joyce Fern Hobbs

Joyce Fern Hobbs, 85 of Springdale passed away Sunday, January 10, 2016 at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. She was born October 19, 1930 in Quinton, Oklahoma to Ray and Cora May Russell. Joyce worked as a Chiropractic Assistant, Accountant and Income Tax Preparer. She was a charter member of Elmdale Baptist Church where she served as a pianist, youth choir director, general secretary, Sunday School Teacher, Adult Sunday School Director and assistant treasurer. She enjoyed playing golf. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Ronnie Kear; two sisters, Lerae Barry Rudell and Eloise Tomlin; two brothers, Wade Russell and Wayne Russell. Survivors include her husband, Neual Hobbs of the home; two sons, Gene Hobbs and wife Pam of Farmington and Roy Hobbs and wife Sarah of Springdale; one daughter, Patsy Stevens of Basehor, Kansas; one sister, Patsy Engles of Metairie, Louisiana; 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 14, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Elmdale Baptist Church in Springdale with Pastor Tim Washburn officiating. A Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale.
