Ralph Calvin Smith, 89, of White Hall, Arkansas, passed from this life Tuesday, January 12, 2016, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. He was born May 11, 1926, in Friendship, to Noah William and Unettie Jane Keeling Smith. He was reared and received his education in California. Mr. Smith served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II and the Korean Conflict and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He had worked at the Pine Bluff Arsenal retiring in 1988 and then worked at Custom Hydraulics and Machinery for 10 years. He was an ordained minister for 40 years and had been the pastor at Eastside Pentecostal Church of God retiring in 2015. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of Lincoln-Drew Hunting Club. He loved to spend time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Martha Elaine Benton; a granddaughter, Christina Denise Goldman; his parents; brothers, Rudy and Clyde Smith and a sister, Elsie McNamer. Survivors include his wife, Martha Mae Tully Smith, whom he married July 1, 1955, in Crescent City, California; a son, Larry Smith and his wife, Jeri of White Hall; grandchildren, Stephanie Alexander, Jeffrey McHan, Brandon McHan, Leslie Tucker, Bert Smith; great-grandchildren, Michael Denise, Nicholas Garrett, Hunter, Aiden, Lilly, Kade, and Shelby. Visitation will be Friday 6 to 8 p.m. at Robinson's. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 16, 2016, Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Reverend Ronald Grundy officiating. Burial will follow in Cypress Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the home of Larry and Jeri Smith, 1117 Heartwood, White Hall, Arkansas. Online register at www.ralphrobinsonandson.com.
