William Martin "Bill" Kessinger, 82, of West Memphis, Ark. died Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Bill was born on August 18, 1933 in Guy, Arkansas to Ida and Howard M. Kessinger. He graduated from Forrest City High School in 1951 he received a Bachelors and Master's Degrees in Education at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. Mr. Kessinger was a member of the First Baptist Church since 1962. He retired from the West Memphis Public School System where he served as Superintendent for 40 years and over 52 years in education. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard M. Kessinger and Ida Bannister Kessinger and a sister, Betty Oswalt. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Shirley Kessinger of West Memphis, Ark.; a daughter, Kathy Daniel of Bryant, Ark.; a son, Mike Kessinger of West Memphis, Ark.; a brother, Don Kessinger of Oxford, MS: and five grandchildren Justin Crain, Jeremy Crain and Kelsey Kessinger all of West Memphis, Trent and Hayden Daniel of Bryant and a great-granddaughter Aubrey Crain of West Memphis. Visitation will be from 12 noon till service time at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at The First Baptist Church, 200 N.
