Ann Hereford Sierra

ANN HEREFORD SIERRA, of North Little Rock, was born July 29, 1922, died peacefully after a brief illness on Jan. 14, 2016. She is preceded in death by her husband, Reginald E. “Bill” Sierra, her parents, Theo P. and Fannie Reese Hereford, four siblings, and other relatives and friends throughout the years. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Sierra Dollar, Susan’s husband Dr. Robert Markman, and her twin granddaughters, Lauralee Scroggins (husband, Andrew Scroggins) and Charlotte Dollar. Born in New Market, Ala., in her later years–and to her own surprise–Ann became something of a world traveler, visiting countries in North and South America, Europe, Africa and Asia. Ann was an animal lover, expert seamstress, and magical gardener. She supported several charities, especially those involving animal rescue and shelter, or offering hunger relief to people. A memorial service will be held at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 2413 Northeastern Ave, Jacksonville, Ark., at 11 a.m., on Thursday, Jan. 21, 2016. Her ashes will be interred in Birmingham, Ala. The family asks that lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local food bank, the Humane Society, or local animal rescue/shelter.
