Jean Morrow Abernathy died January 11, 2016 at Baylor Medical Center in Carrollton, Texas at 93 years of age. She was born in Forreston, Texas to Arthur Lee Morrow and Ethel Maxwell Morrow on September 16, 1922. She attended grade school in Waxahachie, Texas until her family moved to Bay Village, Arkansas during the depression. She graduated from Lepanto High School and attended Draughons Business College in Little Rock, Arkansas. She married Harry Hewes Abernathy (Buddy) and raised two children in Little Rock later moving to Hot Springs, Arkansas to live on Lake Hamilton where she and Buddy enjoyed many happy years together until his death in 2004. Their 60-year marriage was a source of great joy for both of them. She was preceded in death by husband, Buddy; sisters, Sue Turner and Ann Patterson; sister-in-law, Norma Rhyne and niece, Margina Rhyne. She is survived by her son, Harry Hewes Abernathy (Ab) and his wife Carol; daughter, Jean Ann Kidd, her husband Jud who she called her other son. Other survivors are her grandchildren, Carrie Kidd Bell, Judson Kidd, Erin Abernathy and Emily Abernathy; great-grandchildren, Candler McCollum, Caroline Bell and Edie Abernathy; sister, Ouida Hall and sister-in-law, Delores Moore; two nieces, Victoria Hudson and Susan Moore and nephews, Lev Griffin and Jimmy Rhyne. She will be missed by her many friends in Hot Springs and Little Rock. Jean enjoyed life to the full especially the time spent with her beloved Buddy and her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards and dominoes, party-barging on Lake Hamilton and many fun "girl trips" with her Hot Springs buddies and walking her dog, Charley. She was a woman of great faith and it was her purpose in life to learn and tell others about her God, Jehovah.
