Donald Lee Cotterell

Donald Lee Cotterell was born the son of Clifford M. Cotterell and Lauretta B. (Anderson) Cotterell on July 6, 1938, in American Falls, Idaho, and departed this life January 16, 2016, in Mountain Home, Arkansas, at the age of 77 years. He was united in marriage on March 30, 1991, in Sheriden, Arkansas, to Brenda Kaye (Gould) Wooten. He is survived by his wife of twenty-four years, Kaye Cotterell of the home in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; two daughters, Mary York and husband, Rodger of Anniston, Alabama and Sandra Osborn of Newport, Arkansas; one son, Steve Wooten and wife, Zayna of Newport, Arkansas; ten grandchildren, Danny Haas and wife, Rachel, Jason Haas, Savana York, Erin Thompson and husband, Brandon, Amber Winston and husband, Webb, Rachael Osborn, Crystal Fay and husband, Sean, Bobby Wayne Hubbard, Trey Winemiller, and Maddie Hopkins and husband, Zach; 10 great-grandchildren, Isaac Haas, Erin Haas, Roric Fay, Elin Winston, Lily Thompson, Cora Winston, Blaine Hartsell, Riley Hubbard, Colson Hubbard, and Miles Hopkins; one brother, Jack Cotterell and wife, Joan of League City, Texas; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Lauretta Cotterell; one grandson, Christopher Haas; and two brothers, James and Clyde Cotterell. Mr. Cotterell was a retired veteran of the United States Air Force, after serving his country for twenty years, working in news and radio broadcasting. After his retirement he continued to accomplish many things in life including, being acknowledged by FEMA for outstanding contributions and expertise for his work at the Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He was also awarded an appreciation for seven years of service to Grant Company Office of Emergency Management. After returning to this area, he enjoyed life on the farm and could be found feeding the fish in numerous farm ponds and riding his four wheeler with his dog, Dude. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and a loyal friend. He will truly be missed by all.
