Ida Jane Youngblood Uekman, 84, of Sherwood passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2016. She was born July 22, 1931 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Charlie Alexander and Johnnie Johnson Youngblood. She was a lifetime member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and attended school there until high school, graduating from Mt. St. Mary Catholic school in Little Rock. Ida was a life-long friend and member of the Ritchie Family and their medical practices. Ida was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was quick-witted, funny, loved to laugh and joke-often until tears streamed down her cheeks! She was thoughtful and caring, sometimes spending hours on the phone with a friend. If you had ever met Ida, you loved her, but more than that, you felt loved. Ida always shared a big smile-the memory of which will leave us smiling in the days ahead without her loving presence. She was preceded in death by her parents; and three grandchildren, Garrett Uekman, Clinton Pitts and William "Debo" Denton Pitts. Ida is survived by her husband of 65 years, Edward "Ed" Thomas Uekman, they married in the old St. Patrick church. She is also survived by her sons, Edward "Sandy" Charles Uekman (Robbie) and Daniel Paul Uekman (Michelle), both of Marche; granddaughter, Meagan Danielle Uekman; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the Garrett Uekman Foundation, P.O. Box 7773, Little Rock, Ark. 72217. Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m., Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Entombment will be in Rest Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum. A visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m., Friday followed by a rosary at 7 p.m., at Smith – North Little Rock Funeral Home.
