Robert Lewis Hicks Jr.

Robert Lewis Hicks Jr., 34, of Jarreau, La., was born on October 20, 1981 to Robert and Pamelia (McElroy) Hicks of Baton Rouge, La. His elementary years were spent in Newark, Arkansas, where he gave his heart to the Lord. He moved with his family to Slidell, La., and then on to Baton Rouge, La. He married the love of his life, Shonda Lynn Taylor, and they lived on the False River in Jarreau, La. when God called him home on January 18, 2016. Robert was a Boilermaker with Boilermaker Union Local #582. He was affectionately called "Kid" by his peers. He is predeceased by his grandparents; William Hicks, Frank and Jessie Waller McElroy. In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by his grandmother; Norene Evans of Arkadelphia, two sisters; Keri (Todd) Gee and Lori Palmintier, both of Louisiana. He was Uncle Lew Lew to Jesse, Trip and Violet. Robert leaves a host of relatives and friends in Arkansas. Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home Chapel with a visitation from 9 a.m. until service time. (501) 982-2136.
