DR. KIMBERLY GRIMES ADAMETZ died on Jan. 12, 2016. She was born in Columbus, Ga. on May 3, 1962. Kim attended North East High School in North Little Rock and went to Hendrix College and UALR for undergraduate. She received her medical degree and went on to complete her Residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at UAMS. She was Chief Resident and was Board Certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. During her career, she practiced Rehabilitation Medicine at the Baptist Rehabilitation Institute and at UAMS, and worked for the Department of Social Security. Kim was preceded in death by her father, James Leonard Grimes and her stepfather, Dr. Doyle Morrison. She is survived by her two children, Laura and Grant Adametz, her mother La Juana Storey Whyte and stepfather Woody Whyte and her brother James Leonard Grimes Jr. She is also survived by her aunt, Deanna "Nana" Storey Land and uncle Martin J. Land, III of Columbus, Ga. Kim had a genuine love and respect for her patients and was dearly loved by her family and friends. She affected many lives during her time and will be greatly missed. Kim loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time on her back porch, at the beach and on the lake. She loved her two little dogs, Tina and Tater but, most of all she loved her two beautiful children, Laura and Grant. Her children were the most important thing in her life. Laura, Grant, La Juana, Woody and other family members would like to thank Kim's doctors and all the staff at Arkansas Hospice for the excellent care Kim received. A special thanks goes out to Kim's caregivers, Heidi Morris, Gean Brown and in years past, Mary Iva Barrett. Also to Dr. Kendall Stanford, her next door neighbor for always being there and watching over her. Their dedication and compassion were very much appreciated.
