of Little Rock, AR, 1923 - 2016ARTHUR SAMUEL RUBY, 92, of Little Rock, formerly of Salt Lake City, Utah, died Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016.
Art was born in Sunnyside, Wash. on Nov. 22, 1923 to Rudolph and Katherine Kessler Ruby.
After Graduation from high school in Huntley, Mont., he enlisted in the Army. He served at Fort Douglas from 1943 to 1946 at the base hospital where he found a love for the medical field. Art worked for the University of Utah Department of Cardiology and administered the hypertension clinical study.
Art married Naomi Flamm in 1945 and was married for 69 wonderful years before she preceded him in death. They loved to travel, dance and spend endless time together.
Art was preceded in death by his two sisters, Martha Schneidmiller and Alice Wichman.
He is survived by his daughter, Darla Goodwin (Doug) of Little Rock, Ark.; granddaughters, Christina Knight (Trent) of Fayetteville, Ark., Laura Halsted (Dan) of Columbia, S.C.; great-grandchildren: Zach and Reece Knight, Grayson and Delaney Halsted; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016 at 12 p.m. at Riverwood Memorial Garden, Maumelle, Ark. The family will receive friends prior to interment, 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. that morning at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, AR 72211, (501) 224-8300.
