Larry Dale Cross

Larry Dale Cross, 65, of Cabot, died Thursday, January 21, 2016. He was born May 28, 1950 in Humnoke, Arkansas, to the late Carl James Cross and Betty Sue Harris Cross. MSG Cross retired after serving 22 years in the U.S. Army, during which time he served tours in Vietnam, Germany, and Turkey. He later worked for Pinkerton Security, followed by an enjoyable career with Acxiom Corporation, until June 2012. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Brenda Cole; Aunt, Margaret Marlin; Uncles, Lewis Cross, and Buddy McPherson, as well as other loved family members. Larry is survived by his wife of 45 years, Millie, and their children, Julie Escarcega of Fairmont, Ga.; Barbara Mertins (Shaun) of Cabot; Larry D. Cross Jr. (Amanda) of Cabot; and Marc Cross of Cabot; grandchildren, Christopher Escarcega, Keanu Escarcega, Brandon Mertins, Shauna Mertins, Madelyn Cross, and Annabelle Cross; sisters, Nina Chambers, Gail Hogans, Renee Maglothin; brothers, Lenny Wells, and Michael Wells; step-brother, Lyle Kankelborg; aunts, Carrie McPherson and Nell Cross; uncles, Donald Cross and Marcus Marlin; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 28, 2016, from 6-8 p.m. at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
