J.H. Jay Ervin

J.H. "Jay" Ervin, 76, of Springdale, Ark. passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2016 in Springdale. He was born December 29, 1939 in Tipton County, Tenn. to Jack Hulon Ervin and Dorothy (Roe) Ervin. He graduated from Byars Hall in Covington, Tenn. as well as State Technical Institute at Memphis. He had been employed by Firestone Tire and Rubber and later by Memphis Light, Gas and Water. He moved to Northwest Arkansas in 2008. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Springdale, Ark. He is survived by his wife Julie Ervin, two sons, Jeffrey Hunter Ervin and his wife Corinne of Austin, Texas, Jack Richardson Ervin and wife Emily of Fayetteville, Ark., one brother, Dudley Ervin and his wife Robbie of Millington, Tenn., one sister, Carolyn Dugger and her husband Charles of Mason, Tenn., and three grandchildren, Zoe Ervin, Hudson Ervin, and Lucy Ervin. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday January 29 at First United Methodist Church in Springdale with Reverend Judy Van Hoose officiating.
