Jimmie Laverne (Spence) Sharp, age 85, of Perry, Arkansas went to her heavenly home on August 8, 2017. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Milford Sharp; daughters, Nancy and Danny Bunton, Martha and Terry Bull, and Judy and Bobby Hammons, all of Perry, Arkansas; grandchildren, Krystal Hammons, Casey and Mark Rucker, Charlie Hammons, Brad and Rachel Bull, Stephanie and James Risner, Chelsey Bull; great-grandchildren, Chloe and Drake Anderson, Lexie and Olivia Bull, Gunner Rhoads and Annabelle Rucker. She is also survived by her sisters, Shirley Bean Crawford and Ralph, Mary Mathews; brother, William Spence and sister in law, Joyce and Pete Evans. She was the daughter of the late Charlie "C.C." and Edna Jones Spence and sister of the late Charlene Atkinson, Nelda Williams, Clara Tatum, and Anna Mae "Buck" Fortson. She is survived by many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. She was a devoted and loving Christian wife, mother and grandmother, "Nanny" to her grandchildren. She had a generous heart. She taught her children by being an example of a virtuous woman. She had a kind and gentle spirit and loved everyone. She was a faithful reader of God's Word and believed in the power of prayer. She was a member of Oppelo First Baptist Church and loved her church family. She enjoyed cooking, canning food from the garden and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She worked at Soundcraft Systems atop Petit Jean Mountain for years, after working at the Garment Factory. Funeral services will be held at Oppelo First Baptist Church on Thursday, August 10th at 10 a.m. Bro. Gene Tanner and Bro. Mike Atkinson will be officiating. Family visitation will be at Harris Funeral Home in Morrilton, Arkansas on Wednesday, August 9th from 6 to 7 p.m. Arrangements are by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. Pallbearers will be James Evans, Jerry Spence, Gary Fortson, Steve Spence, Jim Atkinson, David Reynolds and Richard Bean.
