Olen Page Cammack, 77, of Sherwood, passed away peacefully in his home on August 6, 2017. He was a 1957 graduate of Fordyce High School, where he played football for Coach Red Parker's legendary Redbug team. After high school, Olen began a long career as an electrician with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 295. Known as "Big O" to his friends, he helped construct many large commercial buildings throughout central Arkansas and the Midwest. Retiring as a Master Electrician, Olen's last project was the Chemical Demilitarization Facility at Pine Bluff Arsenal where he was a general foreman. Olen enjoyed deer hunting and spent many Autumn days at the Oakdale deer camp in Bradley County. He was also an avid Hog fan and passed on his love of Razorback sports to his children and grandchildren. Olen's greatest joy in life was providing for his family, especially his beloved wife of 57 years, Louise (Wolfe) Cammack. He always wanted Louise to drive a Cadillac and as soon as he was able, he bought her one and then kept her in them the rest of his days. He also loved getting Louise special presents at Christmas and watching her surprise as she opened them. Upon his retirement, Olen built Louise the home they had always dreamed of, overlooking the Arkansas River in Mayflower. In later years, he enjoyed developing real estate and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen. Olen was a devoted Christian and he made sure his children were raised in the church. He was a long-time member of Baring Cross Baptist Church and later attended Park Hill Baptist for several years. Olen took special delight in hearing his grandchildren say the blessing at family meals. "Boppie" loved his grandchildren. Olen was preceded in death by his parents, Seth Page Cammack and Ruby Lee (Jacobs) Cammack. In addition to Louise, he is survived by his daughters, Suzy Faith (Doug) and Staci Nichols (Brian) and his grandchildren, Emily Faith, Hayden Faith, Alexandra Nichols and Eliza Nichols. Funeral Service will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, August 10, 2017, at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 JFK, North Little Rock. Burial to follow at Riverwood Cemetery, Maumelle. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the Shepherd's Center of Arkansas, 4314 Idlewild Ave., North Little Rock, Ark. 72116 or Park Hill Baptist Church, 201 E C Ave., North Little Rock, Ark. 72116.
