Richard Dix Stewart, 89, of North Little Rock died on Wednesday, July 26th. He was born in Dallas, Texas to parents Quinton Stewart, Sr. and Minna Nebling Stewart Bray. He was a graduate of Central High School and a longtime resident of North Little Rock. Richard joined the United States Marine Corps, serving as a Drill Instructor in San Diego during the Korean War. He retired from Kraft Foods, Inc. after working for 37 years with the company, primarily in the East Arkansas area. Richard loved to duck hunt and was a Charter Member of the American Duck Hunters Association and also was a regular tennis player at Burns Park. Richard is survived by his sons, Alan (Beth) Stewart and Mike Stewart; grandson, Matt Stewart; brother, Raymond Stewart; nephews, Austin Stewart and Lane Stewart; nieces, Laura Stewart and Marin Stewart along with his longtime friends Virgil Sinkey, William Lee and Donna Barry. A Grave Side service with military honors will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 11th at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, 1501 W. Maryland Ave., Sherwood.
