Bonnie Van Meter, 89, of Bentonville passed away Aug. 8, 2017. She was born June 11, 1928 in Bartlesville, Okla., the daughter of Ray and Maybelle Pennybaker Holley. She was a homemaker and attended Key Pointe Church in Bentonville. Preceded in death by her husband Donald Van Meter, her son Danny Van Meter, her parents, three sisters, one brother and one great granddaughter.
A tribute to Bonnie written by her son-in-law Rick Crosswhite. She lived through "the depression" as did the rest of The Greatest Generation and was 13 years old when World War II began. She could milk cows, chop cotton, and do anything that needed to be done on a farm and even learned about working in the oil patch. An amazing daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend – she was a Proverbs 31 woman her whole life! If you went to her house, you were gonna get whatever you wanted to drink, a snack, one or more meals, desserts, a bed time snack and a place to lay your head. Her light shone brightly through her gift of hospitality. She lived, loved and laughed so well!!! So happy that she renewed her relationship with Jesus and loved going to her new church! I have been extremely blessed to be her son in law for 40 years! Thank you, Nan, for loving me and being such a Godly example of what a servant truly is! Go get your Heavenly rewards!!! Prov. 31:31.
She is survived by two daughters Sandy Crosswhite, and Robin Van Meter; daughter in law Cindy Van Meter; seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren.
