Noel Ray Leach, 81 of Star City, passed away Friday, Aug. 11, 2017 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. He was born Dec. 1, 1935 in Plainview, Ark., to the late William Earl and Ada Chesney Leach. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church since 1960, was a veteran of the Arkansas National Guard and was maintenance manager for C&L Electric Co-op in Star City, retiring after 55 years. Mr. Leach was a founding member of Morgan Point Hunting Club, since 1963, he loved to deer hunt, turkey hunt and crappie fish. He was a charter member of Jr. Chamber of Commerce and member of Star City Jaycee's. Mr. Leach was a graduate of Watson High School and attended Arkansas Tech University. Mr. Leach is preceded in death by two brothers, James Adair Leach and Earl Lee Leach; and one sister, Jolena New. Survivors include his wife, Virginia Cox Leach of Star City; son, Michael (Leslie) Leach of Prairie Creek Beaver Lake, Ark.; daughter, Marsha (Jimmy) Hawkins of Star City; three grandchildren, Lauren (Randall Shreve) Leach, Trent (Ally) Hawkins and Slade Hawkins; and three great-grandchildren, Stella and Charlie Shreve and Annalee Hawkins. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2017 at Griffin Funeral Chapel with Bro. Brad Elrod officiating. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial at Watson Cemetery. Pallbearers are Chuck Copeland, Todd Dutton, Tom Cogbill, III, Keith Boyd, Mike McMillan and Bruce Morgan. Honorary pallbearers are the First United Methodist Church Men's Bible Class, Morgan Point Hunting Club members, Ryker Harvey, Jacob McGhee and Ben McGhee.
