George C. Brogdon (G.C.), 85, of Little Rock, Arkansas formerly of Batesville, Arkansas passed away August 19, 2017 at Perry County Nursing Home in Perryville, Arkansas. George was born April 15, 1932 at Walnut Grove, Arkansas to Russell and Una (Loy) Brogdon. He was a graduate of Batesville High School and attended Arkansas College before entering the U.S. Air Force serving as mechanical crew chief on C-119 planes during the Korean War. After his tour of service he and his wife, Martha, moved to Little Rock where he continued his college education and began his career in auto parts management and sales, retiring in 1989 from Genuine Parts Company. During his career he received many outstanding achievement awards. He was of Baptist faith. He was predeceased by his parents, Russell and Una (Loy) Brogdon, his wife of 59 years, Martha McDoniel Brogdon. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Marcha and Allen Rushing, of Houston, Arkansas; granddaughter, Leigh Anne Rushing and great-grandson, Bryson Glen Birdsong, of Mabelvale, Arkansas; his sister, Anne Brogdon Younger, of Hot Springs, Arkansas; brothers-in-law, Charles (Pat) and Louis (Kathryn) McDoniel and sister-in-law, Dorothy James, all of Batesville; and several nephews, nieces and cousins. There will be a funeral service at 2 p.m., Tuesday, August 22, 2017, at the Roller-Crouch Funeral Home Chapel in Batesville with Bro. Terry Sayers officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville. Visitation is from 1:30-2 p.m.,Tuesday, prior to the service.
